Siri Shortcuts

NeuralRepo integrates with Siri Shortcuts for hands-free idea capture. Speak your idea, and it lands in your NeuralRepo inbox — no typing, no unlocking, no app switching.

Once set up, capturing an idea is as simple as:

“Hey Siri, NeuralRepo”

Siri prompts you for the idea title, sends it to NeuralRepo via the API, and confirms the capture. The idea is created with:

  • Status: captured
  • Source: siri
  • Tags: none (add them later from the web or CLI)
  • An active NeuralRepo Pro plan
  • An API key generated from the NeuralRepo web dashboard
  • Apple device running iOS 16+, iPadOS 16+, macOS 13+, or watchOS 9+
  1. Generate an API key

Go to Settings > API Keys on the NeuralRepo web dashboard and click Generate New Key. Copy the key — it starts with nrp_ and is 68 characters long.

  2. Install the Shortcut

Download the NeuralRepo Quick Capture shortcut from:

    neuralrepo.com/shortcuts

Alternatively, create a custom shortcut manually — see the full guide linked below.

  3. Configure the API key

When you first run the shortcut, it prompts you to paste your API key. This is stored securely in the Shortcuts app and used for all subsequent captures.

  4. Test it

Say “Hey Siri, NeuralRepo” or tap the shortcut in the Shortcuts app. Speak or type your idea when prompted. You should see a confirmation that the idea was saved.

iPhone & iPad

Full voice capture via Siri. Works from the lock screen, home screen, or while using other apps.

Mac

Use Siri from the menu bar or keyboard shortcut. Ideal for capturing ideas while working at your desk.

Apple Watch

Raise your wrist and say “Hey Siri, NeuralRepo” for the fastest possible capture. Dictation handles the transcription.

  • Keep titles short and clear — Siri’s dictation works best with concise phrases. You can always add detail later.
  • Use a distinctive shortcut name — if “NeuralRepo” is hard for Siri to recognize, rename the shortcut to something like “Save Idea” or “Idea Capture.”
  • Add to your Home Screen — add the shortcut as a home screen icon for one-tap capture without voice.
