Email Capture

NeuralRepo lets you capture ideas by sending a simple email. No app to open, no login required — just compose and send.

How It Works

Send an email to:

idea@neuralrepo.com

NeuralRepo creates an idea from your message:

Email Field	Idea Field
Subject	Title
Body	Body (plain text)
Sender	Used for account matching

The idea is created with:

• Status: captured
• Source: email
• Tags: none (add them later)

Tip

Email capture is designed for quick, low-friction idea saving. Write a clear subject line — it becomes your idea title. Put details, context, or notes in the body.

Setup

1. Verify your account email

   The sender address of your email must match the email associated with your NeuralRepo account. This is how NeuralRepo knows which account to save the idea to.

   Check your account email in Settings > Account on the web dashboard.

2. Send an email

   Compose an email to idea@neuralrepo.com:

   • To: idea@neuralrepo.com
   • Subject: Your idea title (e.g., “Gamified onboarding flow for new users”)
   • Body: Any additional details or context

3. Check your ideas

   The idea appears in your NeuralRepo dashboard within a few seconds, ready for triage.

Requirements

• A NeuralRepo Pro plan
• Your sender email address must match your NeuralRepo account email

Caution

Emails from addresses not associated with a NeuralRepo account are silently discarded. This prevents spam and unauthorized idea creation. If your ideas are not appearing, verify that your sender address matches your account email exactly.

Use Cases

• Capture ideas from your phone without installing anything — use your default email app
• Forward interesting emails to NeuralRepo — forward an article or newsletter and add your thoughts in the body
• Capture from any device — any device that can send email can capture ideas
• Share ideas from colleagues — forward their email and have it land in your idea repo for evaluation

Tips

• Write descriptive subjects — the subject line is your idea title, so make it clear and specific
• Keep the body focused — plain text works best. HTML formatting is stripped; only text content is preserved
• One idea per email — each email creates one idea. For multiple ideas, send multiple emails
• Add context later — email capture is intentionally minimal. Add tags, relations, and detail from the web or CLI

Limitations

• Only plain text content is extracted from the email body. HTML formatting and images are stripped.
• File attachments are not processed. Use the web dashboard to attach files to ideas.
• There is no way to set tags or status via email — all email-captured ideas start as captured with no tags.
• Rate limit: 30 emails per hour per account.
